The Girls Xmas Photos

I borrowed Hannah's santa hats for my girls to use for photos. I hadn't gotten around to it so the fact that Hannah needed them back was the push I needed to get them done. It was a quick session. Kamryn was more cooperative than Lauryn. These things tend to go in spurts. But I got some beautiful photos!!! I'm very pleased and you just gotta love a black background! Even better that I got some of them together which appears to be a difficult task. Rarely do I get them to look at me at the same time. My girls are used to getting their photos taken. It's nothing new. And a few growlings and they come right ;) And the ones of Kamryn with bruised legs, ring on her finger and partially painted nails is very typical. I'm just shocked she only had one ring on!

The Blair Family

So Hannah e-mails me on Thursday (30th) showing me a pic her friend took and wanted tips on how she could achieve the same thing. Weeeeeeeeellllll, a while back I told Hannah I wanted to take photos of her boys when we got some time and decent weather. So spur of the moment we made a date for Saturday to do her boys and some family ones. I knew I could do a good job but come Saturday, I still had butterflies in my stomach over the whole thing. I'm not a professional photographer but I do love taking photos. I could definitely handle doing it as a part time job. And for me, photos should be relaxing and for parents it shouldn't be a big stress. I have found too many times with mine at photo shoots, there's too much pressure for a good photo. That's why I am loving the digital age! I'm more an outside phototaker as well. I do inside photos but I haven't mastered light yet and I feel the outside just lends itself to you for color and light. It's just great! Hannah worried about her backyard but I told her I could work with anything and I think I did! I'm very happy with what was achieved on the day and Hannah is too. I like to make the time quick and painless and Hannah was shocked at how quickly it went. So without any further hesitation, here are my faves. There were many I loved but didn't want to put them all up plus I'll give Hannah a chance to showcase her faves as I'm sure she has a few special ones.

This one is my all time favorite shot for the family. Their house is a cool blue color that reminds me of the beach so it made the perfect background. I got a bit over zealous and put too much angle on it but can totally see it matted and professionally framed hanging on their wall at home.

Melissa & Chloe

Melissa and Chloe came to stay with us from November 17-19 to celebrate Thanksgiving. Generally when she brings Chloe she is forever wanting me to take photos lol. I don't mind but obviously Chloe is not my child so I can't threaten her with her life like I do my own lol. Chloe is older so she will sit but Melissa kept trying to get Chloe to smile or stop doing her 'cheeky' smiles or looks. I get it from Kamryn too which bothers me but then I just quit lol. However, out of some 70+ photos I did have some I really like. It helps when you have a digital and you can just click click click and it doesn't matter ;) I would like to showcase some here. And a program called Picasa. With Picasa you can turn your photos into professional prints and do some amazing things with them. In each of the photos here my original is on the left, top or top left while the altered Picasa image follows. I really really love this program and the prints are amazing! And I just love the shots of Chloe on Melissa's back and of them walking together on the beach! PRICELESS!!!

New Blog!

With all the photography I've been doing lately, I wanted to showcase some on my blog. But without bogging down my personal blog, I thought I would start a new one dedicated to my photography. I love taking photos and I get better at it all the time. Of course it's easier taking photos of my girls versus someone else's children but I try. And I get asked to take photos by friends so thought it was time to showcase some of my work. This blog may not be updated often and probably won't contain anything fancy. It's mearly here to enjoy ;)
